Overview
We are seeking a skilled Metal Cladder for our client in Edmonton. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and carpentry, with the ability to work with various hand tools and materials. As a Metal Cladder, you will be responsible for installing metal cladding systems on buildings, ensuring both aesthetic appeal and structural integrity. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to read blueprints and schematics, and a commitment to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Measure, cut, shape, and fit sheet metal to cover building surfaces, walls, roofs, tanks, and equipment
- Install insulation materials and apply protective cladding in accordance with specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to plan and execute projects
- Secure cladding materials using fasteners, adhesives, and welding techniques as required
- Inspect completed work for quality, alignment, and safety compliance
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in safe and clean condition
- Follow all workplace safety protocols, including working at heights and handling materials properly
Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in metal cladding, roofing, or sheet metal installation (apprenticeship or trade experience an asset)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and cutting/welding equipment
- Physically fit with the ability to lift heavy materials and work at heights or outdoors in various conditions
- Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and ability to work independently or in a team
