Tips Personnel is actively recruiting experienced Steel Welders for full-time opportunities with reputable fabrication shops across Calgary and the surrounding area. If you have strong welding skills, experience with structural steel, and can work from engineered drawings, this is a great fit.

Position Overview:
You will be responsible for welding, fitting, and assembling structural steel components used in commercial, industrial, and custom fabrication projects. This role requires precision, reliability, and a strong understanding of welding procedures and safety practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform high-quality welding on structural steel components
• Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and engineered drawings
• Fit, tack, and weld parts according to specifications
• Operate fabrication tools including torches, grinders, plasma cutters, and saws
• Inspect finished welds for accuracy, defects, and structural integrity
• Maintain a safe and organized work area
• Work effectively with a team to meet production timelines

Qualifications:

• 2+ years welding structural steel in a shop setting
• Proficiency in MIG / Flux-Core welding (other processes an asset)
• Ability to read and follow drawings and weld symbols
• CWB tickets in SMAW/FCAW considered an asset
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
• Required PPE: steel-toed boots, gloves, and basic safety gear
