We’re on the lookout for a reliable and hard-working Underground Pipelayer Helper to support underground utility installation crews on essential infrastructure projects. This is a hands-on, outdoor role suited for someone who enjoys physical work, takes pride in quality craftsmanship, and values safety above all else.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Assist with the installation and maintenance of underground sewer, storm, and water lines
- Dig trenches using both hand tools and excavation equipment
- Cut and prepare pipes to specified lengths
- Help perform pipe alignment using lasers, levels, and other tools
- Check trench depth and slope for accuracy
- Support the lead pipelayer and site foreman with daily tasks
- Safely work in and around deep trench environments and heavy equipment
- Follow all site safety procedures and comply with OH&S standards
- Pitch in with general labor duties as needed on-site
What You Bring to the Table:
- 3–5 years of experience in underground utility installation as a pipelayer helper
- Strong understanding of trench safety and pipe laying practices
- Comfortable using pipe lasers, transits, levels, and other layout tools
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, locates, and job specifications
- Physically capable of manual digging and working in rugged outdoor conditions
- A solid team mindset and strong work ethic
- Experience operating or working around excavators, loaders, and other heavy machinery is a plus
- Valid safety tickets and PPE are required
