TIPS Personnel is seeking an experienced Pipelayer to join our underground utilities team. This is a physically demanding, hands-on role for someone with a strong work ethic and a background in deep utility installations. Job Responsibilities:
- Lay out, install, and maintain underground storm, sewer, and water lines
- Interpret blueprints, site drawings, and city specifications to execute accurate installs
- Set proper grade using levels, lasers, or transits
- Cut and prepare pipe lengths to spec using hand and power tools
- Perform trenching using both manual and mechanical methods
- Install various sizes and materials of pipe in deep trench conditions
- Conduct pressure tests and inspections to ensure quality and code compliance
- Work closely with equipment operators and foremen to complete tasks safely and efficiently
- Safely work around heavy equipment including excavators, loaders, and packers
- Follow all Alberta OH&S safety requirements and TIPS Personnel jobsite policies
- Perform general labour tasks to support the team when needed
Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of experience as a pipelayer in deep underground utility installation
- Proficient in using pipe lasers and transits for grade and alignment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specs, and utility locates
- Skilled in trench work, both by hand and using equipment
- Understanding of proper pipe handling and installation techniques
- Comfortable working in deep trench and heavy equipment environments
- Strong commitment to jobsite safety and teamwork

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
Experience:
- pipelayer: 3 years (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
